2025 Rochester Runner of the Year Race

For the second consecutive year The Oak Tree 5K is part of the Rochester Runner of the Year series of races!

Previously, the Oak Tree Half Marathon had been the featured distance race as part of this series, but last year, with the naming of the Oak Tree 5K as the USATF Niagara 5KM Championship race, the Rochester Runner of the Year Race also shifted to the 5k distance.

There is NO additional cost to participate for runners, simply register and run as many of the races from the series as you wish: you must run at least 4 of the races to score for the series. Your best 6 finishes will count towards your Runner of the Year series place.

The awards for 2025 will be for overall winners (men and women) cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with lesser awards to the 4-10 places. There are also age group prizes for the top five in 5 year age groups, again for both men and women. Lastly, any GRTC member who runs in at least six races gets an award.

For full details, rules, and scoring information, visit the Greater Rochester Track Club website for the series here.
