The Oak Tree 5K is the companion race to the half marathon. Around 400 runners and walkers participate in the 5K. The 5K highlights the Natinal Historic Landmark District of the Village of Geneseo, traveling through the business district before touring several historic residential streets.

A water station and music will be on the course and you will finish on the track at the Geneseo Central School where you can relax to cheer on the half marathon runners.

Our course is Certified to be accurate by USATF #NY16111KL. The elevation profile is found on the course map below.

Start & Course

This 5 kilometer course runs on paved roads closed to traffic.  

Course Directions

• The start is a .2 mile walk from the Geneseo Central School on Route 39, near Westview Crescent

• Start by heading south into the Village on Main Street

• Turn left onto Center Street to Highland Rd.

• Turn left onto Highland Rd. to North Street

• Turn left onto North Street to Church Street

• Turn right onto Church Street and continue North on Route 39

• Continue past the starting line, and turn left into the Geneseo Central School driveway,

• Turn right onto the track and turn left on the track to complete a ¾ loop to finish.

Walkers

Walkers are welcome and encouraged to register and participate in the 5k! Strollers are welcome but please remain toward the back so as not to interfere with runners.

Course Aid

Aid Station:

One station with water will be at mile 1.5.

Restrooms:

Located at the starting line and the finish.

First Aid:

EMS personnel will be staged at the finish line.

Lead vehicle:  

A car leads runners through the Village.

Souvenirs

Registrants:

• A male or female fitted A4 Technical t-shirt (view sizing chart) - first 500 registrants

• Surplus shirts & hats will be sold at the event ($5 shirts, $25 hats)

Finishers:

• Post race food and drink at the school supplied by Wegmans including, fruit, bagels and more!
