Oak Tree Half Marathon

There were 159 finishers in the Oak Tree Half Marathon this year, a slight increase over 2025.

Paul Suflita (Colorado Springs) captures his third overall Oak Tree Half Marathon (2021, 2022) title this year, running 1:12:51, his second fastest on the course. With the win, Suflita becomes just the second person to capture three victories at the half distance. In second, Humberto Wallace (Brockport), also an Oak Tree Half Champion (2023, 2024) finished in 1:14:05, also with his second fastest performance on the course. In third, Justin Duchnick finished in 1:19:55, who - yes - also ran his second fastest time on the course.

On the women’s side Marissa Lovell (Eugene) made her Oak Tree debut count, winning in a course record setting 1:20:20. Her time bested Melissa Johnson-White’s 2019 performance of 1:20:32, dropping 12 seconds on this challenging course. In second place, Kathy Tatelbaum (Rochester) finished in 1:29:47 and in third, Tiffany Newell (Welland) in 1:36:40.

Oak Tree 5k

There were 317 finishers in the Oak Tree 5k. Out in front, Hunter Brignall (Seneca Falls) captured the Oak Tree 5k in a time of 15:06, the 5th fastest time run on the course in the 22 years of the Oak Tree Race.

In second place, Patrick Klinger (Niagara Falls) ran a 15:19. In third, Oak Tree Champion Tim Chichester (Hornell)(2011, 2017, 2018) ran 15:33. Each of Tim’s victories came at the half distance. With Suflita’s Oak Tree Half victory this year, he has tied Chichester for the most Oak Tree Half wins at three.

On the women’s side, Lindsay Piraino (Lima) became just the second person to win at both Oak Tree distances with her 5k victory in 17:17. Piraino (2022, 2023) joins Laura Iafrati (5k: 2009, half: 2021) as the only two runners to win at both the Oak Tree 5k and Oak Tree Half Marathon courses. Piraino also becomes just the fourth runner to three-peat, winning three times at the Oak Tree Race. In second place, for the second year, Trisha Byler (Honeoye Falls) ran a 17:20 in a close finish. Third, was Marissa Tyler (Manchester) in 17:52.

5k Age Groups

There were no new male age-group course records set this year.

Five women set new age-group course records - the same number set in 2025. Race winner Lindsay Piraino ran 17:17, lowering the 30-34 record by 1:11 set last year by Jenn Spitzer. Marissa Tyler ran 17:52 to set a new 35-39 record previously set in 2024 by Kelsey Ryan in 18:50. Mary LeBrun Schultz ran 19:32 to lower the 45-49 record set last year by Elizabeth Mattews by 59 seconds. Cheryl Esposito ran 22:52 to set the 60-64 group record by 1:42 - bettering Ginny Sackett’s 2025 time. Lastly, Rauni Engilsh ran 26:16 to better Colleen Newman’s 2025 time for 65-69 year olds by 10 seconds.
